Staple Fiction is a Sydney based independent production company, pushing for the unfamiliar to be told in extraordinary and cinematic ways. We collaborate with directors, writers and artists on film and television projects, across documentary and drama. We have had projects commissioned by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and SBS, and drama and factual projects financed by Screen NSW and Screen Australia.

Staple Fiction’s short films have screened at internationally acclaimed film festivals including Palm Springs, Melbourne International Film Festival, Cinequest, Flickerfest and Sydney Film Festival. Our work has screened on ABC Television, SBS and the ABC streaming platform iView. Wolf, a short film produced by Bethany Bruce as part of the Screen NSW Emerging Filmmakers fund, was nominated in the AACTA #socialshorts drama category in 2017.

Staple Fiction recently produced the arts series Video Becomes Us for ABC iView with director Kate Blackmore, and is in development on the Screen Australia supported feature documentary An Authentic Performance, also with director Kate Blackmore, about the unusual job of a Hollywood Intimacy Choreographer.
