We tell stories that stick...
Staple Fiction is an award-winning Sydney based production company, pushing for the unfamiliar to be told in extraordinary ways. We develop independent ideas and filmmakers, and work with Australia’s up-and-coming auteur directors and writers including the AACTA nominated Corrie Chen and Screen NSW EFF recipient Liz Cooper.
Staple Fiction’s films have screened at internationally acclaimed film festivals including Palm Springs, Melbourne International Film Festival, Cinequest, Flickerfest and Sydney Film Festival. Wolf, a short film produced as part of the Screen NSW Emerging Filmmakers fund, was nominated in the AACTA #socialshorts drama category.
Suicide and Me, a half hour one-off, commissioned as part of ABC’s Opening Shot received critical acclaim when it aired, garnering a review in The Huff Post. Director Corrie Chen, went on to receive an Australian Director’s Guild Award for Best direction in a Documentary (standalone). Staple's first financed short film Ngurrumbang with director Alex Ryan screened in competition in the Sydney Film Festival Dendy Awards.
Staple Fiction is currently in development on a factual arts series and a feature documentary. We still love fiction though, and for us it's all about the story.
